Dr. Weiner’s love of helping patients started at a young age. Her mother is a highly respected double PhD psychologist and professor, and her father built a medical insurance business from scratch. He also reached the base camp of Mt. Everest as he battled multiple sclerosis. These strong role models showed her the importance of family and perseverance, and she uses these lessons daily to improve the lives of others.
She was awarded a full academic scholarship to Colorado College and graduated with honors. Receiving several awards for excellence in research, practice management, oral pathology, and leadership, she was the sole recipient of a scholarship for outstanding achievement in periodontics at Iowa. Torn between becoming a doctor and a dentist, her grandfather, a dentist and her role model, suggested she shadow some oral surgeons and periodontists. It fit her well as her aptitude and love for surgery made her an excellent periodontist, and her passion for building strong relationships with her patients found a home.
In 2016, Dr. Weiner was chosen as one of the “Top 25 Women in Dentistry” by Dental Product Report and named the “Most Interesting Person in Dentistry” for February by Curasan.com. In 2017, Incisal Edge named her in their top “40 under 40” young, rising dentists in the country. She has been voted a “Top Dentist” by her peers in Hour Magazine every year since moving to the metro Detroit area. Dr. Weiner was also specially selected for membership to DENTSPLY Implants’ PEERS North America, an exclusive group of under 100 key opinion leaders and experts in the field of implant dentistry. She has lectured both nationally and internationally on the oral-systemic link (the connection between oral health and overall health), periodontology and implantology, and the importance of being a specialist.
She loves spending time with her husband, Eliot, their three young boys, Jake, Max, and Wes, and their rescue Pitbull mix, Mollymook. She also enjoys travel and adventure. With an unforgettable gap year spent in Central America living on $10 a day, a fulfilling winter as a ski instructor, and two years living in Australia with her husband, her passion for life radiates through everything she puts her mind to.
